Help students tap into the Bulldog Alumni Network (that’s you!) to guide their career journey this Fall.

We're pleased to present Candoor, a pilot project in collaboration with Fresno State's Career Development Center.

 

Who

450 Fresno State students looking for career advice from someone working in the industry they’re studying

What

Candoor, a virtual career conversations and mentorship platform where alumni and students can safely connect for advice, job search strategizing, resume review, and personalized feedback based on real-world work experiences.

When

This Fall, once our students are given their assignment from their professor, they will set up an "advisee" profile and they will use the platform to set up one or more video career conversations with professionals in their field of choice

Where

Everything happens virtually within Candoor for a convenient and safe experience for alumni and students. You’ll give your availability for appointments and have conversations directly on the platform!

Perks for Participating

All alumni advisors who successfully complete a career conversation with a student will:

  • Give back to their alma mater to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of Bulldogs in their industry.
  • Receive free admission to a program exclusive professional networking event in December.
  • Be entered to win alumni-exclusive swag, experiences, and more!

How it Works

Read Candoor's Advisor's Handbook

Get started by setting up an alumni advisor profile using code "FresnoState"

  • Under the question "How did you hear?" use the drop down menu and select "School Career Office."
  • Please use the code "FresnoState" (All one word).

Once you're in the system, you'll be given an advisor handbook and can select how many career conversations you are willing to do each month. You have complete control of your time and what topics you'd like to talk to students about. Everything is customizable to your interests and availability!

Frequently Asked Questions

Fresno State students studying a variety of majors will be participating this fall. This is a nationwide platform, and you may get conversation requests from students who are not from Fresno State. While we encourage connections between Bulldogs, we invite you to share your career journey with all. 

Everyone is welcome. Candoor was created initially as a platform to help Black, Latinx and Indigenous professionals break into historically non-diverse industries and realize their potential, and you'll see this messaging inside the platform as it is still a big part of their mission. And, since its inception, they have chosen to expand their virtual networking opportunity to all students, and all advisors.
