Chicano Latino Commencement Celebration
Previously known as the Chicano Alumni Ceremony, the bilingual/bicultural ceremony
was established in 1977 and was the first individual recognition ceremony on campus.
Now, the celebration is one of the largest events of its kind on campus.

The Chicano Alumni Club is dedicated to providing meaningful engagement of alumni
and friends of Fresno State. With the fundraising efforts of volunteers and community
donors, we are able to support student success and keep our alumni connected.

Chicano Alumni Scholarship
The Chicano Alumni Club Scholarship Endowment is dedicated towards awarding perpetual
scholarships to students who have excelled academically and provided leadership and
community service. The club has raised over $60,000 towards this goal through the
ongoing efforts of the club’s strong leadership.
Edie Benites Memorial Scholarship Fund
Demonstrated interest and/or volunteering with the Mexican-American, Latino, Chicano,
and/or Hispanic communities. Preference given to Parlier High School graduates, preference
in STEM and/or social sciences.
